Ezra Dean and his wife, Gertrude, with their son, John Ezra, circa 1915.
John is dressed in a sailor suit, and Ezra Dean wears his Australian WWI army uniform. Gertrude has a cameo pendant around her neck, and John is wearing a badge in the shape of Australia on his sailor suit.
The description supplied with the photograph reads "Ezra Dean had a blacksmith's shop in Chinchilla ca. 1913-1916. He received a Bible from the Chinchilla Methodist Sunday School on September 17, 1915. This may have been a farewell gift as he served in the first world war and was killed in action in France on August 1, 1916".
