Ezra Dean had a blacksmith's shop in Chinchilla circa 1913-1916.
He received a Bible from the Chinchilla Methodist Sunday School on 17 September 1915, which may have been a farewell gift, as he served in the WWI and was killed in action in France on 1 August 1916.
Sapper Ezra Dean served with the 6th Field Company, Australian Engineers of the Australian Imperial Force. He died in France at the age of 27 years.
