Thomas Wray Long was born in 1843 in Glebe, County Derry, Ireland. He arrived in Queensland in 1877, and to Dalby in 1878.
Thomas Long took an active interest in public affairs and served for many years on the Dalby Town Council, acting as Mayor in 1901 and 1903.
Thomas Long was a storekeeper and baker in Dalby for many years and was a prominent member of the Salvation Army. He died in 1916 at the age of 73 years.
