George Mundell

George Mundell was the first and longest serving Chairman of the Murilla Shire Council. He was a foundation member of the Miles Hospital and Miles Ambulance Brigade, and played an integral part in obtaining medical services in Miles.

In 1930, George Mundell's son, Gordon Mundell, was killed in a local plane crash. Gordon was a member of the firm of Mundell & Adams, motor garage, Miles, and was married to the youngest daughter of Mr R. A. Adams, the second Chairman of Murilla Shire Council.
