The Tara Branch of the Country Women's Association held the opening of the newly completed rest room on 16 September 1950.
Cr. B. Barden, chairman of the Tara Shire Council, presided at the opening, and a ball was held in the hall that night, featuring Rashleigh's Orchestra and the Dalby Pipe Band.
