The image shows two men in one of the four huts constructed near Jimbour House for the Transit of Venus expedition in 1882. One man is wearing a helmet & standing at the rear of the hut, & the other man is seated on a makeshift raised platform while looking into the telescope.
It is assumed that the man looking through the telescope is Leonard Darwin.
