The Council Chambers building in Cunningham Street, Dalby was a single story rendered brick building. It had a symmetrical facade with art deco detailing. It had a centrally located projecting portico, with a recessed entrance, flanked by three long, narrow casement windows surrounded by moulded architraves. The double, timber-panelled entrance doors had a breezeway with decorative lead lighting. The moulded parapet formed a gable in the centre of the facade, with the Dalby Town Council's shield located at the centre of the gable.
Internally, the Council Chambers had a parquet floor, a timber dado on all four walls with timber screenings on the windows.
In the front office, the ceiling was decorative plaster with decorative cornices. A brass plaque fixed to the wall commemorated the opening of the Council Chambers on 13 February 1932 by the Hon Arthur Edward Moore, Premier of Queensland.
The Dalby Council Chambers were listed on the Queensland Heritage Register on 23 July 1999.
