The first aerial pageant of the Dalby Aero Club was held at the Dalby Aerodrome on Saturday 30 July 1932.
Ten aeroplanes took part in the pageant, including the "Southern Cross" piloted by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith.
Events included a display of aerobatics, an aerial derby, bombing a light car, a joy riders handicap, & a short landing test. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith also carried out several passenger flights throughout the day.
The visiting pilots were entertained in the evening at a dinner at the Paragon Cafe & afterwards at the Grand Pageant Dance at the Elysium Hall. Dance music was provided by Ryan's Orchestra, and trophies won during the afternoon were presented to the winners by Air Commodore Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. In doing so, Sir Charles took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the hospitality that been accorded to him and his party on their visit to Dalby, and he gave his best wishes for the future prosperity of the town and its people.
