Leslie George Hopgood, known as George, was the proprietor of a boot repair and cycle agency in Cunningham Street from the early 1920s to the 1940s.
George Hopgood was a very active Dalby citizen who enjoyed participating in many sports, particularly tennis, and was active in promoting the cycling course on Condamine Street. He was also the first secretary of the Dalby Cycling Club, and was well known for his work in connection with St. Joseph's Church, the Dalby hospital, and the Dalby Ambulance Brigade.
