Following the annual race meeting on New Year's Day, 1936, dancers gathered for the Bell Race Ball. The attendance showed a considerable increase on that of previous years, due to the ball being held in the new School of Arts Hall.
The lady's outfits, and the bright, carefree atmosphere in the hall, helped make the evening a huge success. Tables were decorated with tall vases of pink gladioli, and the dance music was provided by Ryan's band. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Mr. W. J. Robertson, & Mrs. P. Lynagh was in charge of the supper arrangements.
The Bell School of Arts Hall is now known as the Bell Memorial Public Hall on Wallace Street, Bell.
