Sports Day at Squaretop, Kaimkillenbun, 1927

The day was held for the benefit of the School of Arts, and was very well attended.

Events on the day included girls & boys races, bending races, a Light Horse medley race, a local Troop horse race (4
furlongs with 8 starters), Alarm race (8 starters), Musical chairs (motor cars, with lady runners), Rescue race, Throwing at the wicket, Gretna Green, & Stepping the distance (ladies, 32 yards 1 foot 3in). Owing to a threatening storm the crowd left early, and the remaining part of the programme was cancelled.

A grand ball was held in the evening in the School of Arts, which was decorated with greenery and flags for the occasion. Music was supplied by Ryan's orchestra, and attendees stated that the event was the ball on the season.

Approximately £50 was raised for the School of Arts.
