Jondowaie State SchoolHistory
Jondowaie Provisional School (No. 537) was located near the corner of Sydney & George Streets, and opened 28 March 1887 with 13 students enrolled.
In 1899, a new site for the school was selected and two wooden school buildings were constructed. The site selected was 44 George Street, which is the site of the current school.
The school became Jondowaie State School when a large number of Queensland Provisional Schools were proclaimed State Schools under the educational regulations which came in to force on 1 January 1909.
In 1915, Jondowaie State School was re-named Jandowae State School to align the name with other government agencies in the area.
