In 1923, a tender was accepted from Mr. Sumpter of Dalby for the erection of a new Post Office at Jandowae. The cost of the building was to be £2100, and the new structure would occupy a position on what was known as the Court House Reserve, opposite Lovejoy's Hotel.
It was anticipated that the new post office would be appreciated by all residents of Jandowae and district as the former building used for postal business had outlived its usefulness. The new building was to be a great improvement to postal services, and would help towards the future prosperity of the town.
The new Post Office was completed and opened for business in February 1924.
