The Chinchilla Soldiers' Memorial Hall was officially opened on 2 June 1925 by the Governor of Queensland, Sir Matthew Nathan.
The hall was declared open before a crowd of 400 people. The Governor addressed the crowd, pointing out the difference between unveiling a monument and opening a hall - the former was in memory of fallen heroes and the hall was for the living.
